XIV Ustasha Battalion (XIV. ustaška bojna)

Formed January 1942 in Karlovac. Very little is known about this battalion. (1)

Operational History

20 Mar 42: participated in Phase I of the Petrova gora offensive in the Kordun region southeast of Karlovac around Vojnić and Vrgin Most.
Apr – Sep 42: no information - it appears that it was broken up and most of its personnel used to replenish other Ustasha units.
1 Oct 42: Battalion not listed in a complete order of battle of the Ustasha Militia for this date. However, there is some limited evidence that it may have been rebuilding in Imotski under V Ustasha Brigade and temporarily designated “Mixed Ustasha Border Battalion.”
1 Dec 42: again listed, with Bn. HQ and 1st – 4th Co. in Kupres/26 km NE of Livno.
Jan – Jul 43: transferred from Kupres to East Bosnia and reassigned to I Ustasha Brigade.
Aug 43: Rogatica/East Bosnia operating under I Ustasha Brigade.
Jul 44: Lukavac/11 km west of Tuzla in East Bosnia and reassigned from I Ustasha Brigade to the XII Ustasha Brigade, which was formed in July.
Oct 44: still in Lukavac.
Nov 44: Gračanica/East Bosnia - renamed III Bn. (ex-XIV Ustasha Bn.)/XII Ustasha Brigade.
