Two Einsatzgruppen were formed for the occupation of the Sudetenland in September 1938:
Einsatzgruppe Dresden (SS-Standartenführer Heinz Jost)
- five Einsatzkommandos
Einsatzgruppe Wien (SS-Standartenführer Dr. Walter Stahlecker)
- two Einsatzkommandos

In March 1939 when the rest was occupied an additional three Einsatzgruppen were formed:
Einsatzgruppe I Prag
- Einsatzkommando in Budweis
- Einsatzkommando in Prague
- Einsatzkommando in Kolin
- Einsatzkommando in Pardubitz
Einsatzgruppe II Brünn
- Einsatzkommando in Olmütz
- Einsatzkommando in Brünn
- Einsatzkommando in Zlin
Sonderkommando Pilsen
