999. Leichte Afrika Division (also known as 999. Afrika Division) was upgraded to a division from 999. Afrika-Brigade in March 1943 and the first regiments arrived in Tunis late Mar. Its regiments fought as separate units attached to various large units and it surrendered 13 Mar 1943.
