Formed in Blankenberge in the Belgian province of West Flanders in May 1940 and subordinate to the 22. Marineartillerieregiment. In July 1940 it was moved to western France. There it was used to form the Marineartillerieabteilung 284, Marineartillerieabteilung 282 and Marineartillerieabteilung 286, with a small section forming the Marineartillerieabteilung 260.
