V. SS-Freiwilligen-Gebirgskorps was formed in Berlin (stab) and Truppenübungsplatz Miliwitz near Prague (corps troops). It served in (former) Yugoslavia and was used to fight partisans until it was transferred to Germany where it remained until it ended the war near Berlin.

1. Arthur Phleps was captured by Soviet forces after accidentaly crossing into enemy territory. He was shot while in captivity following a German air raid.
2. SS-Werfer-Abteilung 105 was formed in September 1943 as Werfer-Abteilung Generalkommando V. SS-Panzerkorps and redesignated SS-Werfer-Abteilung 105 in October 1943. It was reformed with volksdeutsche from Eastern Europe as SS-Werfer-Abteilung 505 in Juy 1944 with five batteries.
