17 Dec.1944..... Unit arrived at Libau, in the Latvian portion of the Kurland Pocket. This port, on the Black Sea, was one of the few that units could escape through on their way back to the Reich.
1945 (early)..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.184 was transferred, by sea, to join Heeresgruppe Weichsel, while leaving its equipment behind in the Kurland Pocket.
8 Apr.1945..... Reportedly assigned to 3. Panzerarmee, Heeresgruppe Weichsel.

Jun. 1944..... Unit reorganized with the addition of a Begleit-Batterie and a Panzer-Batterie of Pz.II’s. Some were later withdrawn in Nov. 1944 and the remainder stayed through to 15 Mar.1945.
Early Aug.1944..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236 arrives at Jassy in the Armee-Group “ Woehler”, Heeresgruppe Sudukraine, sector of the front.
2 Sep.1944..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236 was shattered during the bitter fighting at Jassy to repel the attacking Soviet Second Ukrainian Front which had been poised just to the north of the city prior to their invasion of Rumania on 20 Aug.1944 (“Black Sunday”.
6 Oct.1944..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236 was reformed, at the Posen Truppenübungsplatz, from the survivors of the old brigade, plus reinforcements in men and equipment. It is uncertain if the Begleit-Batterie was reformed at this time.
12 Jan. 1945..... Unit transferred to East Silesia.
1945..... Unit assigned to 4. Panzerarmee fighting in Silesia and Moravia.

20 Aug.1944..... On a day that the Germans refer to as “Black Sunday”, the Soviet Army’s Second Ukrainian Front dashed southeast, from the area north of Jassy, deep into the lines of 6. Armee, and destroying most of Stu.Gesch.Bde.239 in the process. Only 3.Bttr./Stu.Gesch.Bde.239 is able to remain together as a fighting unit and quickly absorbs remnants of the shattered H-Sturmartilleri-Bde.236.
2 to 12 Sep.1944..... Unit reformed from the remnants of Stu.Gesch.Bde.184. Stu.Gesch.Bde.189, H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236. and 3.Bttr./H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.239.
29 Oct.1944..... Unit is reported to be still fighting in Southern Hungary.
5 Dec.1944..... Assigned to Armee-Group “Fretter-Pico”, Heeresgruppe Sud, fighting in Hungary.
1945..... Unit reported to be attached to new 6. Armee, still fighting in Hungary.

Mid Mar.1945..... After being trapped in the Heiligenbeil Pocket, H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.249 handed over its remaining equipment to H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.277 and was shipped from Danzig back to Altengrabow for reorganization.
End of Mar.1945..... Unit transferred to Potsdam-Krampnitz. Wehrkreis III, for rest and rebuilding. An Infanterie-Begleit-Batterie was added to the unit at this time.
Apr. to May 1945..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.249 participated in the final battles in and around Berlin.

Aug.1944..... The unit was sent to Posen Truppenübungsplatz, Wehrkreis XXI, where it absorbed the remnants of the disbanded Stu.Gesch.Bde.245 and was refitted with the assistance of Sturmgeschütz-Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 500.
Sep. to Oct.1944..... Unit sent to the Netherlands and assigned to Kampfgruppe “Chill”.
4 Dec.1944..... Attached to LXXXIV. Armeekorps, 7. Armee, Heeresgruppe B.
