The 326. Volksgrenadier-Division was formed in Hungary in September 1944 from the partially formed 579. Volksgrenadier-Division. It was sent to the Western Front in December 1944 and fought at the Roer Riber, the Ardennes and the Eifel area. The surviving elements surrendered in the Ruhr pocket in April 1945.
