The Panzer-Division Schlesien was formed in February 1945 at the training area Döberitz from the staff of Panzer-Brigade 10 and was originaly planned to be named Panzer-Division Döberitz instead of Schlesien. It was absorbed by Panzer-Division Holstein in March 1945 which was in turn promptly absorbed by 18. Panzergrenadier-Division.
