The XI Armeekorps was formed in October 1936 in Hannover. It surrendered at Stalingrad on 2 February 1943 and was reformed in March 1943.
It was destroyed at Cherkassy 18 February 1944 and reformed in April.

Known war crimes

Soldiers of a Panzerjagd attached to the Corps shot the mayor of Everode for insulting soldiers and for cowardice in April 1945. A soldier of the unit was sentenced to two years in prisor for the shooting post-war. (1)
