The Reichswehr-Brigade 24 Nürnberg of the Vorläufige Reichswehr was formed in June 1919 from the Freikorps units Freikorps Amberg, Freikorps Regensburg, Freiwilligen Jägerkorps Erlangen, Detachement Bogendörfer and other smaller Freikorps units formed in Freistaat Bayern.

It was transferred into the Übergangsheer without any major changes.

It was used to form 7. Division in October 1920.
