The Reichswehr-Brigade 11 Kassel of the Vorläufige Reichswehr was formed in June 1919 from the Freikorps units Freikorps Hessen-Thüringen-Waldeck, Freikorps Hessen-Nassau, Freikorps Thüringen and several smaller units formed in the area of Generalkommando XI. Armeekorps Kassel.

It merged with Reichswehr-Brigade 18 in May 1920 into Reichswehr-Brigade 11 of the Übergangsheer (this was planned for October 1919).

It was used to form 5. Division October 1920.
