The Panzerabwehr-Abteilung/SS-VT (also SS-Panzer-Abwehr-Abteilung) was formed in June 1939 from SS-Kradschützen-Bataillon N.
It was disbanded in August 1939 and its personnel transferred to other units, but it was reformed in September 1939. In October 1939 it was used to form SS-Division Verfügungstruppe (later renamed Das Reich).
