XXV Ustasha Battalion (XXV. ustaška bojna)

Formed at the end of March or beginning of April 1942 in East Bosnia, or possibly in Ljubuški/Herzegovina. The Battalion may have been temporarily disbanded during the first half of 1943, and then reestablished in summer 1943. (1)


Operational History

1 Oct 42: consisted of only a 1st and 2d Co., both in Bijeljina/E Bosnia.
1 Dec 42: Bijeljina with lst -4th Co.
27 Feb 43: 1st Co. from Hrvatska Mitrovica took part in Operation “Grün” in the Krndija and Dilj Mountains in Slavonia.
Aug 43: reestablished this date in Ljubuški/30 km SW of Mostar by renaming 10th Ustasha Preparatory Bn., or was being brought up to strength using assets taken from it.
31 Dec 43: in Ljubuški.
30 Jul 44: in Gračanica/18 km ESE Doboj.
Aug – Oct 44: Gračanica with 1st – 5th Co..
Oct 44: renamed IV Bn. (another source says V Bn.)/XII Ustasha Brigade in October 1944.
