Dates: 8 – 17 March 1945. (1)
Objective: To comb the Moslavačka Mountains southeast of Zagreb, block the transfer of Partisan 10th Corps toward the Drava River, and destroy all Partisan formations encountered.
Enemy Forces: 32d and 33d Divisions JA and the Moslavina and Zagreb Partisans Detachments.
1st Croatian Assault Div.
I Mountain Brigade
Conduct of Operations and Results: The Axis forces moved out on 8 March and advanced toward the center of the mountain area from Bjelovar, Popovača, Križ and Banova Jaruga. The Partisans were driven back and eventually withdrew from the Moslavačka Mountains under the cover of darkness. The most significant thing about this operation is that it was the last of the named anti-Partisan operations to take place on the territory of the Independent State of Croatia, at least that are known.
Losses (from Partisan accounts)
Germans and Croatians: “hundreds” of killed, wounded and captured.
Partisans: 90 killed, 471 wounded, 51 missing and 2 captured.
