The Reichswehr-Brigade 40 Berlin of the Vorläufige Reichswehr was formed June 1919 from the Freikorps unit Division von Lettow des Garde-Kavallerie-Schützen-Korps.

It merged with Reichswehr-Brigade 9 in October 1919.
