Lettisches Freiwilligen Polizei Regiment 1 Riga

The Lettisches Freiwilligen Polizei Regiment 1 Riga was formed in August 1943 as Lettisches Freiwilligen Polizei Regiment and was renamed on 4 September 1943. It was first used in anti-partisan duties and later as a frontline unit. Transferred to the 15. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (lettische Nr. 1) on 15 October 1944 and renamed Waffen Gren. Rgt. der SS "Riga" on 26 October 1944.
A new unit with the name Lettisches Freiwilligen Polizei Regiment 1 (also known as Regiment Liepaja) was formed in February 1944 under the command of Waffen-Standartenführer Janis Grosbergs. It was disbanded in August.

A "Lett.Freiw.Pol.Rgt. Riga" cuff title was authorized for the unit in May 1944.
