The Panzer-Sicherungs-Kompanie 1000 was formed in October 1943 as Panzer-Sicherungs-Kompanie/Sicherungs-Regiment 100 in France. It was equipped with 17 ex French tanks and as the name suggests it was attached to Sicherungs-Regiment 100. It was redesignated Panzer-Sicherungs-Kompanie 1000 in February 1944 and at the same time the regiment was redesignated Sicherungs-Regiment 1000.
